Met Rich @ Big Rights, paddled down to Courts, saw Janner & Donna. Went back down to BR & ran into Gavin H. Excellent little waves when they came in, but very very few and very very long in between. I think I caught maybe 4 waves the whole time. Kinda wrote the surf day off and went in to hang with the wife and baby on the beach. Beautiful day, though HOT & HUMID!

Jumped in brother Richs truck.... ultra low tide, excellent conditions and fun little waves. Very light crowd. Felt like I was coming out of my recent slump. Nothing really outstanding but the board and my surfing was more together than it has been for a long time. Felt very in tune. Rich went leashless, his surfing was on fire again, ripping it up. Lots of regs, Brian, other Rich, Wes, Mario, Shin etc.

Beeeyoootiful sunny day, got fully baked. Definite pulse, south swell lines coming in. Almost empty lineup. Big high tide seemd to add extra push. Not back to 100%, but had another good session, put some decent moves together. A bunch of solid lip bashs, several excellent floaters, one backside floater really stood out. Last wave pulled off a fully vert fins out crack off the close out and proned in. Stoked.

Met Chris, who saw my boards for sale on the website, sold him the best one at a great price.

Got a call from Greg who saw my boards for sale and wanted to check out the last of them. Arranged to meet at DHL so I brought my new stick and surf trunks in case the surf looked doable. Sold him the newest one, gave him a good price and some extra goodies (another set of fins, leash, etc.). Decided to keep the dinged board for back up.

As I watched the surf (one guy out), it was looking much better than I initially thought. Strictly windswell, but there were occasional head high peaks, merging with decent waist to chest high walls across the inside. The high tide kept the form better, and the little waves often doubled up nicely. Itchin to get more time on the new board so I suited up for a surf. Down the trail and on the beach I noticed, despite the sideshore direction, the wind was much less stronger than the past few days, hardly messing the conditions at all (only 1-2 begginer windsurfers floppin around). Not the usual salt water spray eye blasting we tend to accept from this spot.

The lone surfer went in about 10 minutes after I got out and I had it to myself for an hour. Later, one guy joined me and remarked about how much better the surf was (than it looked from the cliff). By the last hour there were 5-6 others and still enough waves for all. I was blowing too many lip blasts but was nailing some good round house-rebounds. The reform walls off the peak were perfect for burying rail into full figure 8 arcs- fly out into a smooth carve, pivoting around the lead hand dragging, then coming off the bottom and slamming backside off the foamball. This new board is sweet! An out of the blue  compliment from a kid surfer made my day - "doood, those are some SICK roundhouses, how do you come out of the turns like that?" - jeeez, I was floored and didn't know what to say :)

Overall a super fun session in above average windslop.

Me & Rich, met Neal already out (he had driven all the way from G*** Isle after checking it out at dawn!)...ran into Channon V.... Windy and grey, low tide, waves started out ok but went downhill fast. Somehow Neal was getting good rides. After Neal left it was just me and Rich and the waves disappeared, waited for like 15 minutes before we ended up paddling in! Very forgetable session for Bud

Solo session, some almost head high peaks, better at high tide than yesterday morning but still mostly crap. A few fair rides on some decent little double ups. It actually got crowded later in the afternoon, must have been 10-12 people out.

Low tide windswell pretty lame, but conditions improved as the morning progressed. Nevr more than 3 others out, so it was bearable. A few decent walls, popped a few off the lips, overall poor session. OtherNeil, later Glenn Matsumoto
