The Lineup: Greetings! (article)

"Although the word "lineup" implies physical positioning, in surfing, a lineup also refers to the grouping of people waiting for waves at any given surf break. Each lineup is distinct, varying by the personalities present, the mood, the season, and even time of day..."

Very perceptive Neal, seems on target to me. My experiences in the line-up just about match. Another excellent article.

Good deffinition. The mood of the lineup deffinately changes. I've seen where the mood in the lineup is great, very chilled and relaxed. Then, some kook has to paddle out and the vibe totoally changes.

Great info. This kinda stuff is never spelled out with more than 'dont fuck up'. If I frack up a wave, I just get wet, but piss off some people, and that spot gets harder to paddle out to.
